Overview of 5 day tour from Casablanca to the Sahara desert
Over 5 days and 4 nights, we will explore remarkable locations in Morocco, starting from Casablanca and making our way to the desert. The itinerary includes a tour of Casablanca and a visit to Marrakech, known as the Red City. Our journey will continue southward through the High Atlas Mountains, passing by the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah and reaching Zagora.
In Zagora, we will have the opportunity to experience the Sahara desert, where you can ride camels and spend the night in a luxury camp amidst the dunes, witness the enchanting sunset and sunrise over the Sahara. On our return, we will traverse the High Atlas Mountains and cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass once more.
Itinerary of the 5-day excursion from Casablanca to the desert
Dia 1: Casablanca – Marrakech
Upon arrival, the team will greet you at the airport or your Riad/Hotel in Casablanca to commence a 5-day tour from Casablanca to the desert. Next, you will embark on a scenic tour of Casablanca to explore the Great Mosque of Hassan II, which serves as the emblem of the city, La Corniche beach, and the historical center of Casablanca. Afterward, you will proceed to Marrakech. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in Marrakech.
Dia 2: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Zagora
After breakfast, we will depart from your hotel or riad and head south, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass at 2,260 meters. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains. Next, we will visit the city of Ouarzazate and the Taourirt Kasbah. We will continue our journey through the Draa Valley, the largest palm oasis in Morocco, until we reach Zagora. There, we will leave the 4×4 vehicle and embark on an exciting two-hour camel ride to our desert camp. We will spend the night in comfortable nomadic tents, under a starry sky.
Dia 3: Zagora – Vale do Draa – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Today, we will drive on a journey in our 4×4 vehicle towards Ouarzazate. We will traverse the Draa Valley mountains and explore the stunning Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our return to Marrakech will take us over the High Atlas Mountains. We will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon.
Dia 4: Marrakech – City exploration
Today is entirely devoted to discovering the medina of Marrakech. We will start with the Menara Gardens, featuring its stunning pond, followed by the Koutoubia Mosque and its impressive minaret, the Saadian tombs, which honours the city’s founders, the Bahia Palace, and the Dar Si Said Museum. To conclude, soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the renowned Jamaa El Fna. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in the same city.
Dia 5: Marrakech – Casablanca
Have breakfast and then depart for Casablanca, making our way to the airport to board your flight back home. Ultimately, this marks the conclusion of the 5-day tour from Casablanca to the desert.
