Itinerary of day Tour from Marrakech to Imlil

At the foot of Jbel Toubkal (4,167 m), in one of the most magnificent valleys of the High Atlas, this excursion to Imlil offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in nature. Spectacular gorges in Moulay Brahim and towns with traditional markets are among the highlights that will accompany you on your incredible journey to Imlil.

Departure from your riad or hotel in Marrakech at 8:00 AM to Imlil. We will pass through Tahnaout and head south to the Moulay Brahim Gorges and Asni, where a weekly Berber market takes place. Later, we continue our excursion to Imlil (1,740 m), located in the Western Atlas Mountains.

This is a region with challenging geography, accessible only by a road that leads through the middle of the valley, offering views of the slopes dotted with many villages. These peaceful mountain settlements are well-adapted to their natural surroundings.

Upon arrival in Imlil, we will leave our vehicle and meet our local guide before starting a 4 km hike south to the Berber village of Aremd (1,843 m). Along the way, we will pass through the villages of Ait Souka, Targa, and Imoula, with views of Jbels Aguelzim (3,547 m), Aksoual (3,867 m), and Adrar Adj (3,122 m). We will continue our excursion to Imlil to Aremd, where we will explore this unique community in the At Mizane Assif Valley, overlooking ancient fields of barley, corn, terraced vegetable gardens, and almond and walnut trees.

All these features make this environment and location a great option for nature enthusiasts to spend a rural day near Marrakech. The hike continues for another half hour to the village of Achayn, where lunch will be shared with a Berber family.

After lunch, we will travel back to Marrakech via Imlil, crossing the valley. And finally, the end of our excursion to Imlil.
