Itinerary of Marrakech to Merzouga 5 days of Desert Magic
1st Day: Marrakech - Tizi-n-Tichka - Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges
The tour kicks off in Marrakech in the morning as we head towards the Dades Gorges. Our journey first takes us through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N Ticgka pass. Continuing with our 5 Days Morocco tour from Marrakech, we proceed through Ouarzazate, cross the Valley of the Roses, and eventually arrive at the Dades gorges, marking the beginning of the famous “route of a thousand kasbahs.” We will stay overnight in the Dades Valley and enjoy dinner at the hotel.
2nd Day: Dades Gorges - Todra Gorges - Merzouga
Begin the morning with breakfast at the hotel. Our 5 days Morocco tour from Mrrakech kicks off at the Todra Gorges. This location provides a delightful stroll between its magnificent canyon walls that rise over 200 meters, leading us to the desert through the palm grove of Tafilalet. Arrive at the hotel situated at the base of the dunes, where you can take a leisurely walk, relish the fine sands of Erg Chebbi, and soak in the breathtaking views.
3rd: Merzouga - Erg Chebbi tour
Our 5 days Morocco tour from Marrakech begins with a traditional Moroccan breakfast. You will then go in a 4×4 to explore the dunes of Erg Chebbi, a sandy desert area where numerous sights await you. You’ll learn about the lifestyle of nomadic desert families, discover wild oases hidden in the vastness, take in breathtaking landscapes, and visit quaint desert villages, all surrounded by beautiful palm trees. A key stop will be the town of Khamlia, where locals from Mali present an engaging Gnawa music performance for tourists, accompanied by the enjoyment of delightful tea.
As we head back to the hotel, the camels are prepared for a one-and-a-half hour journey that takes us across the dunes, leading to the desert’s core to witness the stunning sunset. Enjoy the atmosphere filled with music, drumming, a delicious dinner, and Moroccan tea. Spend a magical night in a luxury desert camp.
4th Day: Merzouga – Rissani – Ait Ben haddou:
Get up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes of the Moroccan Sahara. After breakfast, we leave for Risssani. This town is renowned as the most genuine and traditional souk in Morocco, being the largest in the southern region of the country, featuring a variety of handicrafts, food, and livestock.
We continue with our 5 days Morocco tour from Marrakech via the stunning Draa Valley, adorned with thousands of palm trees. We arrive at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah in the evening to enjoy dinner at the hotel.
Dia 5: Ait ben haddou – Telouet Kasbah – Marrakech
Today we will visit the stunning Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, renowned for serving as the backdrop for over twenty films, including “Babel.” You can take a journey along the trail that leads to one of the most impressive kasbahs in the region, Kasbah Telouet. Upon reaching Marrakech, we will bid farewell and conclude our 5 Days Morocco tours from Marrakech.
