Morocco itinerary 10 days begins in Tangier. Over the course of 10 days and 9 nights, you will experience the wonders of Morocco. We will explore Cape Spartel and the Hercules Cave. After that, we will traverse the Rif Mountains, wander through the blue city of Chefchaouen, and view the Roman ruins of Volubilis.
Following this, we’ll visit Fez and Meknes. After that, we will travel to Ifrane, a Swiss-like town in Morocco, and explore the nearby cedar forest. We’ll also have the opportunity to ride camels and witness the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets in the Sahara’s Merzouga Desert. In addition to our adventures in the Merzouga Desert, we’ll trek through the stunning gorges of Todra and Dades. Our journey will require crossing the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-n-Tichka gorge. Finally, we will spend time in Marrakech. The 10-day itinerary in Morocco concludes in Marrakech or Casablanca.
The Morocco itinerary 10 days starts with a pickup from either Tangier Airport or the port. We will then explore Tangier, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. This enchanting city welcomes you to explore the famous Hercules Cave and Cape Spartel, which boasts a magnificent minaret offering breathtaking views of the ocean. After some leisure time, go on a journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Tetouan. Delve into the historic Andalusian roots of the Medina. Proceed to the charming blue town of Chefchaouen, often referred to as the Blue City. The entire medina, with its lovely cobblestone streets, quaint artisan shops, painted blue and white houses, and friendly locals radiating warmth and smiles, epitomizes the allure of Moroccan culture. Surrounded by mountains, getting lost in the meandering, narrow streets is a delightful way to enjoy the day. Spend the night in a riad within the Medina.
After having breakfast, we will proceed with our Morocco tour. You will have some leisure time to explore the city further before departing for Fez. Fez is a stunning city established in the 13th century, making it the oldest of Morocco’s imperial cities and a true classic of that era. Artisans are clustered in streets and engage in activities reminiscent of age-old traditions, coexisting with peasants seeking refuge from recent droughts. Overnight in a riad in the medina.
Today is dedicated to a private guided tour of the medina of Fez, featuring numerous historical sites: “Al Karaouine,” the world’s oldest university, established in 859. The schedule includes visits to the “madrassas,” which are Koranic educational institutions: “Mederssa Bou Inania” and “Attarin.” Additionally, it encompasses the renowned artisans’ pathway and the famous souks of Fez. Free evening to relax or explore the medina on your own.
Begin your day with breakfast before departing for the Middle Atlas Mountains. Make a quick stop in Ifrane, often called Africa’s Switzerland. Continue your journey to Azrou National Park, renowned for its cedar forests and sociable monkeys. Next on our 10-day Morocco itinerary is Midelt for a lunch break, a town recognized for its impressive mountains that rise up to 1488 meters. After, travel to Erfoud, where you will hop into a 4×4 vehicle that will take you directly to the enchanting Merzouga, home of the expansive Erg Chebbi dunes. Savor dinner and spend the night in this delightful village.
We will begin our day with breakfast, followed by a desert excursion featuring a dune tour. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to visit several villages inhabited by nomadic people. One of our stops will be in Khamlia, where we can experience the traditional music of the Gnawa. After enjoying lunch, we will mount dromedaries to journey into the desert and witness the stunning sunset over the Erg Chebbi dunes. Following this fulfilling day, you will go on a camel ride through the Erg Chebbi Dunes to witness a magical desert sunset, then spend the night at an authentic Berber tent beneath the breathtaking starry sky of the desert, and enjoy a wonderful dinner with local Berber music.
Today, we bid farewell to the desert path and continue our 10-day tour of Morocco to the breathtaking Todra Gorges (formed by the Todgha River). After exploring the palm grove of Tinghir, the trip proceeds, and we make our way through the villages towards the High Atlas and the reddish-hued Dades Valley. Enjoy dinner and spend the night there.
Our Moroccan journey takes us along the thousand Kasbahs road, known for its numerous adobe fortresses featuring crenelated towers and decorative brickwork. Then through the Valley of Roses, to Skoura to visit one of the most preserved Kasbahs in Morocco, the Kasbah of Amridil. Enjoy some time walking around this iconic Kasbah and learn about the local and Berber lifestyle and traditions. Continue to Ouarzazate for overnight and dinner at the hotel.
Start the day with breakfast before traveling to the village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for serving as the location for various films, including Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Gladiator (2000), Cleopatra, and The Jewel of the Nile, among others. Continue to Marrakech by way of the stunning Tizi-N-Tichka mountain pass, which reaches an elevation of 2260 meters. Once you arrive, you will be taken directly to your accommodation in Marrakech.
Today is fully dedicated to the exploration of the medina of Marrakech. Our first stop will be the Menara Gardens featuring its stunning pond, followed by the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, known for its impressive minaret. Next, visit the Saadian Tombs, which honor the city’s founders, then proceed to the Bahia Palace. To conclude your day, immerse yourself in the vibrant ambiance of the renowned Jamaa El Fna. Explore the local cuisine and experience the nightlife when the famous square comes to life with food stalls, performers, dancers, and artists.
Enjoy breakfast before setting off for Casablanca, where you’ll head to the airport to board your flight home. This marks the end of the Morocco itinerary 10 days.
