On a budget tour over three days from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert, you will discover the borders of the Sahara desert and admire the stunning views of the Dades Valley and the Kasbah of Ouarzazate. After a camel ride in the Erg Chebbi desert, you will spend the night in a tent, surrounded by the sand dunes.
Itinerary for 3 days from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert
1st Day: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Valley of Roses - Dades Valley
The 3 days desert tour kicks off in the morning at 08:00 from your hotel/Riad in Marrakech or at another previously arranged location. We will drive through Tizi-n-Tichka (2260m) in the High Atlas Mountains. The journey from Marrakech to Ouarzazate showcases stunning landscapes with a variety of colors and picturesque Berber villages along the route. We will have the chance to visit the historical Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou before we arrive in Ouarzazate, where we will tour “Kasbah Taourirt.” Time will also be set aside for lunch. Afterward, we will continue toward the verdant valley in the southeast of Dades and the town of Roses, passing through the enchanting Skoura plam grove. Dinner will be provided at the hotel/Riad in the Dades Gorges valley.
2nd Day: Dades Valley - Todra - Erfoud - Merzouga Sahara
Following breakfast, we’ll continue our 3-day tour from Marrakech to the desert, departing from the Dades Valley as we head toward Merzouga. Our route will take us through Tinghir and the Toudra gorges. After passing the gorges, we will proceed to Erfoud, Tinjdad, and the Palm Grove, where you’ll have some time to enjoy lunch. Afterward, we will head to the breathtaking dunes of Merzouga and Erg Chebbi. Following a camel ride, you will have the chance to enjoy a stunning sunset from atop the dunes. Take in the views before continuing to the camp. Once in the camp, you’ll have some time to unwind and relax before enjoying a traditional dinner and spending the night under stars.
3rd Day: Merzouga - Rissani - Draa Valley - Ouarzazate - Marrakech
You may want to wake up early today to witness a mesmerising sunrise over the dunes before we continue our 3 days desert tour, traveling through the wide Tafilalet Palm Grove, Rissani, and the Draa Valley. The tour then moves on to Ouarzazate. After savoring lunch, prepare to head back to Marrakech. The plan is to arrive at your hotel or Riad in the afternoon, marking the end of the 3 days from Marrakech to sahara desert of Merzouga.
